Hearing nothing but 'Don't go to Egypt!" especially from the Australian travel smart website, this beautiful place almost got cut out of the list. Luckily, through ever magnificent social media portal I met an Argentinian woman who was living in Egypt. Guess what she said? "COME!". So we bought our tickets and left Morocco. We arrived at 4am and within the first hour we already saw a dead body on the road and were left to navigate the rather deserted and dilapidated streets of down town. We eventually found our feet and discovered that this place is aaaaaaaaaalright. I didn't even know the white desert existed! or that the red sea had incredible snorkelling! The Egyptians are friendly as! Our hostel owner in Cairo was probably one of the greatest humans we've ever met and we will never forget him.
